I read with interest Roger Freeman's car-share club (The Argus, April 6). This will reduce pollution and gridlock.

The club already has 24 members and three cars with dedicated parking bays. A car can be booked at 15 minutes' notice over the internet and this will solve many problems for members because, at present, they have to wait 18 months for a parking permit.

Launched in October, its success has led Brighton and Hove City Council to plan other schemes. This will, I think, encourage people to reduce their dependency on the car and reduce the number of cars on roads throughout the city.
