Entries for a competition to find the best new business in the country must be submitted by the end of the month.
The HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards 2004 are open to businesses that have been trading for two years or less.
John Rendall, head of business banking at HSBC, said: "You don't have to be the biggest or fastest-growing firm but it should be the kind of business others can look to for inspiration."
The winner will collect £20,000 while the runner-up scoops £5,000.
All finalists will be given £4,000-worth of software.
Entry forms are available from HSBC branches or by calling 0870 902 3333.
