I agree with Geoffrey Theobald that Hove is being ruined by Brighton and Hove City Council allowing beautiful houses and gardens to be replaced by blocks of flats.
The reason the council does it, of course, is because it collects more tax out of blocks of flats than houses.
The council does not seem to care what happens to Hove, which is not a city, whatever people might say. It is a quiet, residential town which is gradually being turned into a concrete jungle.
The proposed building for the King Alfred site is a good example of this.
To build these enormous skyscrapers on the seafront is madness but it means the council will collect more tax from 400 flats.
If we could see results of all this extra tax, it would not be so bad but all we see is deterioration and neglect.
