Regarding Chris Coleman's letter (February 11) about the NCP car park in Church Street, Brighton, I have been in correspondence with NCP customer services since February 2 and, after some delay, have heard from the area manager Mike Ludlow.
He has told me the pre-pay facility was stopped due to a change in computer software and that it has been reintroduced at a rate of £5.20 for six hours from 1800 hours.
This improves on £1.60 per hour, at 40p for each quarter of an hour and people do not pay for time spent waiting to use the pay machines.
In response to my comment that there is no sign to tell people of the pre-pay facility, Mr Ludlow said one would be put into place soon.
Meantime, I hope this letter will help others who may be planning to park in the Church Street car park in the future.
-Mrs S E Tulley, Hassocks.
