Two men have appeared in court charged with murder in connection with an attack in one of Hove's most prestigious squares.
Flamur Topalli, 32, of Bursted Close, Brighton and Endrit Llazari, 21, of Circus Parade, Brighton, appeared before magistrates in Brighton yesterday accused of killing Albanian national Altin Molita, 23.
Mr Molita, who worked at the Pussycat Club, was found slumped in his car on the north side of Palmeira Square with multiple knife wounds in the early hours of Sunday.
Paramedics attempted to revive him but he died at the scene.
The accused, both Albanian, spoke only to confirm their names. Topalli addressed the court through an interpreter.
Stephanie Dell, defending Topalli, said he had an English common-law wife of six years in Brighton as well as two children.
Neither defendant made a plea.
The pair were remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown court on May 20.
Police are appealing for witnesses and the investigation, Codenamed Operation Trent, is headed by Superintendent Chris Gillings.
