What kind of person chooses to live in the centre of a city and then complains about noise - during a major cultural festival which only lasts three weeks?
And what kind of council puts on a major cultural festival and then reacts to two complaints about noise by slapping a noise abatement order on the official Festival Club?
The Spiegeltent is the best new addition to the Brighton Festival for years and has added a huge buzz.
Restricting the music it can play and the volume at which it can play it has severely impaired the atmosphere in the Festival Club.
Surely, a compromise could have been reached that would have avoided such drastic action.
This leaves Brighton and Hove looking like it's unfit to host an event such as the Festival and will do nothing to promote the city's image.
