When the Post Office "consulted" at the end of last year on the closure of its pleasant and efficient Church Road branch opposite Hove Library, users received a reassuring leaflet telling them that alternative facilities would be available at Miss Hodgson's Post Office near the town hall, a short walk away.
It now emerges that Miss Hodgson told the Post Office "a year ago" that she was likely to lose her lease and close (The Argus, May 6).
Either the Post Office was telling lies during the "consultation" exercise or it has a management where the left hand does not know what the right is doing.
Over to you, Mr Simmonds, as "head of area for the Post Office".
