Brighton and Hove City Council got its priorities all wrong by serving the Spiegeltent with a noise abatement notice.
The long-suffering residents who live along Kingsway and the Shoreham harbour area suffer intolerable noise from heavy goods vehicles, starting at 4.30am all year round.
We need equally prompt action from environmental health officers. They should weed out all vehicles who make our lives a misery due to excessive noise levels, stop any loaded lorries leaving the harbour without protective covers and use their powers to protect us from pollution and environmental damage.
The council should show concern for all residents instead of spoiling a time of enjoyment for everyone.
