Millions of people in this country are trying to get a roof over their heads but can't because for four decades no new council houses have been built and none will be.
Affordable housing must start at £65,000 for those on low wages. It is about time the Government and local authorities got their acts together and started building cheap, affordable homes.
If this does not happen several generations will never own a house and generations of children will live with their parents well into their 40s.
It is obvious that those in authority do not want the issue of housing on their agenda or in their policy commitments for the next general election as this is an area where they fear to tread.
Where are the hundreds of thousands of cheap homes John Prescott promised us? This is 21st century Britain and yet we can't afford to house our own citizens.
