Albion boss Mark McGhee has given his players a stark warning: "Your careers are at stake."
The Seagulls face Swindon in the second leg of their Division Two play-off semi-final at Withdean tomorrow with a 1-0 advantage.
But McGhee has stamped on any complacency by issuing a reality check to his team.
He said: "I've had a right go at the players. I told them their careers are at stake. There are boys out of contract and not in the team and they are relying on the players who are.
"The more successful we are the better chance they have got of being at the club.
"There is no room for even one per cent complacency just because we are in the lead.
"The players will all be starting their holidays on Friday if they think it is a matter of going to Withdean and winning. They've got to make it happen.
"Swindon put in a massive effort on Sunday and they will be trying evern harder when they come to our place because they are one down. I want us to be absolutely focused. Nothing less will be good enough."
McGhee revealed Paul Reid will continue on the right side of midfield as Albion play an unchanged team.
