Brighton and Hove is playing host to a contingent of French journalists and travel companies to boost cross-Channel business opportunities.
The two-day Meet The French programme, organised by Visit Britain, is the biggest annual Anglo-French tourism promotion in the UK and Brighton has been chosen to host this year's event, sponsored by the city council's visitor and convention bureau and Southern English Cities.
Twenty-six journalists and more than a dozen tour operators will visit tourist boards, carriers, hotel groups and attractions across the UK.
Delegates attended a workshop at the Dome yesterday followed by an evening banquet at the Royal Pavilion. Today, they were being given guided tours of Brighton and lunch on Palace Pier.
Some delegates were to tour other cities including Winchester and Guildford.
Major publications are represented on the visit. Brittany Ferries is among the travel trade contingent.
