Your tirade (The Argus, May 20) condemning the flour-throwing capers of Fathers4Justice lacks analysis.

Such a knee-jerk response is unhelpful; a deeper, more circumspect view is more revealing.

Every event can be seen from different perspectives. This was a disgraceful act, maybe, but has F4J not done the public a service by highlighting the government's inability to put its own house in order?

The PM that (mis)led Britain in to the mire of Iraq, seems unable to ensure the integrity of the Mother of Parliaments, despite having the panoply of state powers and resources at his disposal.

We entrusted Tony Blair and Labour with the reins of power seven years ago, yet repeatedly we suffer unsound, ill-considered and flawed judgements.

Again, this was in evidence in the House when the Speaker ordered the House be cleared - a disastrous response with an unknown substance present.

Procedures were clearly non-existent for such eventualities.

This was not just another lapse of security; it is symptomatic of a profound, systematic malaise.

It's time to go Tony, before you do further damage to Britain.
