A tycoon has allegedly offered $1 million to go six rounds with Chris Eubank.
The Indecent Proposal-style bid is said to have been made to tempt the former world boxing champion back into the ring.
Rumours are flying around the internet that the price was named while Chris was in Paris earlier this month.
The ex-boxer, who lives with wife Karron and their children in Hove, has maintained a high profile since hanging up his gloves in 1998.
He and Karron recently took part in the Gumball 3000 Rally - a six-day, 3,000-mile jaunt for the world's most exclusive cars.
They drove a Bentley from Paris to Marrakesh and then via Barcelona to Cannes.
Since Chris's return, it has been claimed that while in Paris he was offered a seven-figure sum to fight an American businessman - perhaps a fellow competitor.
On one of Chris's messageboards, a correspondent wrote: "While Chris was on the Gumball 3000 Rally 2004, he was approached by someone about the possibility of a six-round boxing fight to be held at his private gym in Hove.
"Apparently, this person has offered a $1 million fee for the privilege of taking Chris on and has invited 20 of his guests, who will watch the fight from the gallery.
"The whole six-round bout is said to be screened live on the official web site."
Chris was back in Spain yesterday, unavailable for comment.
His spokesman Asa Hudson said: "We have heard these rumours of $1 million being offered but we don't know what's going on.
"Chris is keeping very quiet about it."
