The destruction of the English language continues unabated.
For some time now I have noticed the laziness in pronouncing the letter "T" has worsened.
How I detest the actors in Emmerdale and Coronation Street who fail to pronounce this lovely and important letter.
I do not know whether this is because they are all lazy or whether the producers have insisted on them speaking like this - the authori'ies reduced his benefi' because he didn' repor' all his asse's. Mr Pa'el lost his daugh'ers mi''ens.
I don't think we can blame the Americans for this aberration which make me squirm - while not watching Emmerdale wouldn't be a great loss, I would cer'ainly miss Coronation Street.
In spite of complaints, there has been no improvement in studio guests' speech, where sentences are heavy with "you know," "sort of" and "over the moon"!
Speech is only one aspect of modern England where laziness and "blow you Jack, I'm all right", are now a way of life.
