Lewes manager Steven King is today set to sign defender Max Hustwick from Kingstonian.
The 21-year old scored in a 3-2 friendly defeat against Crawley at the Dripping Pan last night.
King said: "He was a different class. He didn't look out of place against the Crawley forwards and they are in a league higher than us.
"He's strong, quick and good on the ball so he will be a great signing for us."
Summer signing Barrington Belgrave scored the other goal for Lewes, who had defender Adrian Ward and former Wimbledon professional Albert Jarrett in their line-up.
King said: "I'm not sure I will be signing Ward. Albert was on another planet and I would like to sign him but I don't know if I will be able to because he is too good for this level.
"If a club comes in for him then so be it but at the moment I've got him and I will play him."
Crawley included new trialists Loui Fazackerley and Tom Davis, who have both been released by Fulham, plus former Albion winger Darragh Ryan.
Ryan, son of former Albion favourite Gerry, scored twice in eight games for Albion in the Nineties.
Fazackerley put Crawley ahead in the first half and a Mo Harkin double after half time completed the win.
Manager Francis Vines said: "I have an idea about who I want to bring in and there will probably be a few signings over the next week."
Lewes' match with the Ghana Olympic squad on Saturday has been cancelled although officials are trying to revive the fixture with a decision expected today.
