Last spring my neighbour's daughter Summer, then two, underwent drastic surgery for osteomyelitis (a bone infection).
She had two operations to remove three inches of bone and spent five weeks on a drip followed by six weeks of aggressive antibiotics taken orally.
This story was in The Argus. While my neighbour Fiona was in the children's hospital with little Summer there was a continual scramble for access to the TV/Videos/DVDs etc.
Pupils of the Adele Academy School of Dancing which is run by Fiona's sister raised £847 at their annual show at Roedean in July for the purchase of more equipment for the hospital.
They have managed to purchase three TV/VCRs, two TV/DVDs and Playstations with games. Currys supplied one of the TV/VCRs.
They have £100 left to purchase games and personal stereos.
fter a week when our local hospitals have been given a knock let's have a bit of good news.
