What's wrong with bread? I'm mainly referring to white, farmhouse, unsliced bread.
I've tried bread from three different supermarkets and several bakeries.
It's all mediocre, to say the least.
Three categories follow:
The bread is:
1. overbaked, hard as a rock and scorched to a cinder on top.
2. soft, tasteless and reminds me of cotton wool.
3. dense and heavy like lead - it looks like somebody sat on it.
When I think of all that nice bread I used to get in the past, I should think the bread these days is enough to make a good baker cry.
Perhaps some other reader/s know of a decent bakery somewhere. If you do, please write and let me know.
