I have recently been dangerously ill and am very fortunate to live in Sussex, where I have received highly specialised treatment at the RSCH in Brighton.
There has been so much unfair criticism of the NHS. If you are seriously ill you will receive the best attention possible but pressure on the service will reveal weaknesses.
If you are fit, this is the most important factor for survival and recovery. It's a pity more patients are not aware of this and act accordingly, with the exception of those who are unable due to ongoing debilitating illness.
All the staff are so kind and understanding. Their laughter helps our recovery. Just say thanks.
