Congratulations to John Prescott for delivering the Judgement of Soloman whereby both sides are claiming victory in the football at Falmer controversy.
Congratulations also to the residents of Falmer who have fought so hard to stop this outrageous planning application.
Let us take heart from the fact David beat Goliath. Hopefully, this peaceful little village with its idyllic duck pond can be saved for future generations and we will have Falmer for all - not just for football fans.
The truth is that nobody wants the stadium near them so it should be put where it will cause the least disruption.
The obvious site is Waterhall, which is twice as big as Falmer, has excellent road and rail links and is nearer the city. Because Waterhall is just the wrong side of a line on a theoretical map and Falmer is just on the right side does not justify the chaos and disruption which would be caused to Falmer.
