Glynde and Beddingham need nine points from their remaining two games to clinch the division one title.

Their relentless push for the silverware continued on Saturday when they picked up maximum points with a five-wicket win over relegation battling visitors Chiddingly, who are third from bottom.

Chiddingly were dismissed for 123 as Dominic Shepheard took 6-28 before Joe Adams (63) helped Glynde to victory.

Crowhurst Park made sure the title race went into another week after they defeated hosts Fletching by six wickets.

Off-spinner Paul Lindfield was Park's star man with 7-26 as Fletching fell for 141. Park got home as Victor Walcott (76) and Paul Brookes (33 not out) put on 98 for the fourth wicket.

Ringmer, who started the day 78 points adrift of the leaders in third place, had a high scoring draw with bottom side Hellingly. Ringmer rattled up 240-5, Stuart McConachie hitting 130 (117 balls, 23 fours) and Glyn Crees (41) and Simon Pugh (51) also contributed. James Wise hit 90 off 91 balls and Neil Green 53 as Hellingly made 212-9 in reply (Murray Barnett 5-68, Andrew Smith 3-49).

Iden occupy the second relegation spot after Heathfield Park beat them by 132 runs. Park amassed 232-9 declared with Matthew Blackman out for 99 and Phil Shanks took 3-5 from six overs. Iden collapsed for 100 (Shanks 53) as Tim Russell bagged 5-32.

Newick made 242-8 but drew with Seaford, who closed on 182-7 (Terry Penfold 80).

Herstmonceux edged a little further ahead of St Peters at the top of division two after they drew and their main title rivals lost for the first time in 20 games.

The two sides meet this weekend at St Peters with Herstmonceux knowing that victory would all but secure them the title.

Herstmonceux made 241-1 (Andy Standen 122 not out, Dave Procter 52 not out, Dale Mayhew 43, but bottom side DPB recovered from 20-3 to close on 209-6 with Ian Rippengal making 105 not out.

St Peters lost after Rottingdean made 186-8 (Andy Aylward 85, Julian Withers 43, Matthew Knight 4-29). Saints were dismissed for 120 (Knight 64) as Mark Smith took 5-24 in a 66-run win.

Ditchling made ground, beating struggling Rye by four wickets. Rye made 163 after collapsing from 93-2 to 124-8 (Hilficker 4-23) and Ditchling got home after Burns hit 46 despite Martin Blincow taking 3-58.

Rye need a maximum points victory over Barcombe this week to avoid relegation. Barcombe lost to Uckfield after being shot out for 157 after restricting their hosts to 185-7 (Keith Hunter 3-30) .

Struggling Battle picked up just three points as they fell for 119 all out (Dean Serra 6-18) against Tunbridge Wells Borderers, who eased to a seven-wicket win.
