Hastings United lost their 100 per cent record when they went down 1-0 at Walton & Hersham.
It was tough on Steve Lovell's men who were kept at bay by a string of fine saves from Walton's Nick Gindre, notably a stop in the last seven minutes to deny Carl Rook.
Lovell brought on all three subs at half-time, when his side trailed to Mark Nwokeji's angled effort after 39 minutes, and although it galvanised United, they couldn't find the killer touch in front of goal.
At the other end, Carl Gibbs twice missed good chances to wrap up the points for Walton.
