Michael McCavana is the new man in charge of food and drink at Eastbourne's five-star Grand Hotel.
The 35-year-old, who joined the hotel in King Edwards Parade two years ago, has been appointed food and beverage manager.
Mr McCavana has had a long career in the hospitality industry, having worked for the Hilton, Metropole and Stakis groups.
He now has operational control of everywhere that serves food and drink in the hotel, including the public lounges, bars, two restaurants and room service.
He said: "I have worked my way up the career ladder in the hotel industry, starting work as a casual barman."
