Now work on the last section of Brighton's lower promenade is nearing completion one can only hope that a reasonable amount of seating will be provided.
For many people the beach is a no-go area. It would be pleasant to be able to sit and enjoy the sea views and watch the world go by.
When the new children's paddling pool was built no provision for any seating was made. Parents and grandparents had to sit on the ground, not much fun for older or disabled people.
At long last, two benches have been put in place. Now we have cycling policeman to keep undesirables away. Why not place vandal-proof seating at the back wall, sheltered from breezy Brighton winds?
