We have been regular visitors to Brighton since the mid-Nineties, staying in the same apartment in Kings Road/Middle Street.

Although elderly, we are used to noise and we enjoy the buzz and excitement that is very much part of Brighton's make-up.

However, violence and anti-social behaviour is not acceptable at any time but to have to endure it on a regular basis between 2-30 and 5am is just not on. Virtually every night we have had to endure some major disruption.

Thursday, August 5, was a fairly typical night. We were woken around 5am by a young lady screaming her head off over some chap fighting the police and having to be handcuffed. In total, there were at least four police cars and vans with dogs also in attendance.

The previous night it was some idiot trying to reach ten on the Richter scale with his stereo in his stationary, open-topped car.

The night before that it was Caribbean music being played from 4am to 5am.

These and other forms of anti-social behaviour were repeated during the hours in question throughout our three-week stay. One could hear local residents shouting for quiet. Sadly, none ever came.

Brighton is rapidly taking the Blackpool route with beer-swilling yobs taking over the place.

It is with some regret we have written to Brighton Holiday Flats to inform them of our concerns and point out that although we love staying there and also Brighton itself, we shall not be coming down again unlless we receive some assurances that the anti-social behaviour currently blighting this area is sorted out.
