Once again it's time for the Government to come to Brighton for it's annual waffle and beer-fest. Why?
Do we really need them turning Brighton into a fortress with barricades and 1,000 coppers (some armed)? Where are they the rest of the year?
The only ones to benefit are the hotels, pubs and working girls. If they want security - let them go to an Army camp. There are plenty of empty ones since their tenants are in Iraq.
Since 1984, towns such as Brighton that allow this jamboree have had to suffer more and more inconvenience for the sake of a freebie break for political party members. It's high time they were told to clear off.
