I am not sure BG Beck (Letters, August 20) knows too much about professional football clubs and their supporters.

His/her letter seems to be suggesting the Albion are the only club with fair-weather fans.

I think most people who know anything about football know all clubs have these types of supporters. One thing is for sure, though. With very few exceptions, clubs that build 21st Century stadiums seem to increase their fan bases, Southampton, Reading and Bolton being good examples.

Larger crowds nearly always bring success on the pitch.

So build a large modern stadium so that more people from the community can meet there and watch football matches.

This would be the case with the Albion.
