Richard Carpenter and Chris McPhee have set their sights on their first full games of the season after successful comebacks last night.

The Seagulls duo both played for an hour in a low-key friendly against Worthing as they recover from foot and knee injuries respectively.

Paul Reid had 65 minutes after missing the Bank Holiday weekend wins but Charlie Oatway's return from a hamstring problem was put on hold.

Oatway will have a pain-killing injection today and targets next Tuesday's reserve team clash with Crawley Town, when Carpenter and McPhee will be aiming for 90 minutes.

Carpenter said: "We'll get our heads down and work hard next week, then hopefully next Tuesday I might have a full game.

"I'm looking at that, training and building it up.

"I've been training quite hard to get my fitness and it feels good."

McPhee scored the first goal in a 2-0 win at Woodside Road as he aims to put the heat on Adam Virgo in the battle for a place up front.

He said: "The foot feels fine. I got a whack on it in the second half and I thought about it for a minute but apart from that it felt fine.

"I've been icing it down after training as a precaution but everything seems to be going well.

"I'm a little bit off being match sharp but I've been doing some quick-feet work in training and I will be match fit pretty soon."

Reid left the action shortly after Jake Robinson had scored the 66th-minute second in a 2-0 win.

Nathan Jones, Gary Hart and Albert Jarrett also played while Oatway said his absence was no cause for alarm.

He admitted: "It's a setback in my own head but I've done pre-season, I've got the fitness and hopefully by Monday I should be training pain-free."
