Consider the cost to local communities of the Government's policy to build houses in the South-East.
The oldest building in Nutley (circa 14th Century) is to be surrounded by "executive style" homes via a planning application approved by Wealden District Council.
Despite heavy local opposition, the council planning committee has for some reason approved this application which was previously rejected on appeal.
The biggest need for villages such as Nutley is for affordable local housing, yet the council has approved these houses.
One wonders what influences are in force to make this so.
