As a Wolverhampton-born guy living in Brighton, I was pleased to see Wolves fans and Brighton fans mixed peacefully at the Withdean, both before and after the game.
I was amazed when I walked into the pub just outside the ground to find a mix of both sets of fans with no animosity between them whatsoever.
It said a lot about the way football fans have matured. No more fighting, no more aggression based on the colours of people's shirts. It was truly delightful to see.
What a shame, then, that throughout the 90 minutes of the actual game, a barrage of racist abuse was continually direct at Wolves players.
I thought Brighton was a bit more tolerant of different cultures and lifestyles than to stoop to that level?
