On Monday, August 23, I reported to the police an abandoned vehicle that had been left outside my house for a month.
Once they discovered it had a road tax disc they were not interested even though I pointed out it was parked illegally, facing the flow of traffic during the hours of darkness.
It is good to know the police are able to turn a blind eye to less serious offences.
It does, however, encourage the popularly held belief that road safety is not a prime concern and catching motorists exceeding the 30mph speed limit is more a means of generating revenue.
It also gives the green light to anyone who wants to dump a car on the road.
It would be interesting to know if this problem is widespread and if other readers are having similar experiences.
