Charles Dickens' classic tale - with those immortal words, "Please sir, can I have some more?" - is back.
This latest adaptation, directed by Dotty Briant and Keith Smith, is a fun-filled musical that will pull on even the most hardened heartstrings.
It is a pleasure to be reminded again of the timeless characters of Fagin, Nancy, Bill Sykes and The Artful Dodger.
When Sykes (James Bell) pushed the scrawny Oliver (played brilliantly by Ross Skilbeck), a shout of "leave him alone, Bill, you big bully" came from the audience.
Whether or not you come to sing along to Lionel Bart songs such as Food, Glorious Food, Where Is Love?, Consider Yourself and many more, you can't help but be swept along on this musical merry-go-round because the wonderful characters draw the audience in and make them feel part of the story.
The choreography is splendid and brought to life by musical director Daniel Goodger.
At one point, when Fagin sings Reviewing The Situation, he is accompanied only by a violin solo and at this point, the hairs on the back of the neck go ballistic.
This is a superb show and should not be missed.
As the cast finish the show with another rendition of Consider Yourself, you are left with the overwhelming feeling of considering yourself very lucky to have seen such a performance.
