Allan Tait today urged manager Francis Vines to keep faith with him up front.
The Crawley striker was handed his first start of the season at Canvey Island on Tuesday and scored twice in a 2-2 draw.
It came a week after the 23-year-old netted a hat-trick for the reserves in a 6-2 win over Peterborough United.
The former Tottenham trainee believes he can continue his goalscoring form against Forest Green Rovers in the Conference at Broadfield Stadium tomorrow, if given the chance.
He said: "I was delighted to have got a start and hopefully I did enough to push for another one on Saturday.
"I have given myself the best chance and if Frank (Vines) decides to stick with me then I intend to grab the chance again with both hands.
"I'm playing with a lot of confidence at the moment. I feel that every time I have a shot, it's going to go in so I'm just looking to carry that on.
"No one likes sitting on the bench and I'm no different. I want to be starting regularly and scoring goals, but Frank knows that."
Scoring has never been a problem for Tait. He won the Golden Boot in the Kent League three years ago after netting 32 goals in 29 games for Deal Town.
He joined Dr Martens League side Folkestone Invicta and scored 15 times despite relegation from the premier division in his first year at the club.
Tait hit 15 goals in the eastern division last season before joining Crawley for the final two months of the campaign.
He admits playing in the Conference is a big step up but is confident he can help Crawley continue their promising start to the season.
He said: "It is a hell of a lot quicker compared to what I was playing before, but it suits my style of play. I have played and scored goals in the Dr Martens premier, so although I was only playing in the eastern division this time last year, I have had experience of a high level of football.
"I'm confident I can cut it at this level. I've always been able to score goals and I believe I can carry that on in the Conference."
Vines said: "Allan will always score. He has been desperate to play and has taken his chance, which is exactly what I want from all of my players. It gives me a problem as to who to pick, but it's a nice problem to have."
Tait faces competition to keep his place. Danny Davidson has recovered from a calf injury and Dan Marney returns to the squad after missing the Canvey game with a groin strain.
Defender Sean Hankin is out with a knee problem and Matt Rees (back) and Rob Kember (ankle) remain doubtful.
Paul Armstrong could come into contention for the first time after resuming full training this week following knee surgery in the summer, while winger Mo Harkin has been cleared to start running again after recovering from an ankle injury.
Forest Green go into the game bottom after suffering their worst start to a Conference season.
They have one point from the first nine games, which came in a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Farnborough Town last Saturday.
It was manager Alan Lewer's first match in charge after repplacing Tim Harris, who was sacked two weeks ago.
Rovers, who lost 3-2 against Exeter on Tuesday, are without four players through injury. The most notable is defender Andy Thomson (knee), who made more than 300 League appearances for Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers and Wycombe.
Lewer said: "The performance against Exeter pleased me in spells and I can't fault the effort and commitment of the players. But they have got to take it on another step and I'm looking for them to start that against Crawley."
