Dan Becks career with cash-strapped Albion has been saved by Bognor.
They have taken over the young strikers contract, giving him extra-time to show the Seagulls he is worth keeping.
Beck had a three-month contract with Albion, due to expire at the end of September. He has been on loan at Bognor and the clubs have now struck an unusual deal.
Albion manager Mark McGhee revealed: We have re-signed Dan for a couple of months, Bognor have taken over his contract and they are paying for him.
There has been improvement in him and the fact they are prepared to pay his money means we can keep hold of him for longer.
Bognor boss Jack Pearce said: Dan did well for us last year when he first came to us and he has been doing very well for us again.
We are paying more than we can afford, but if you look at the overall package its worth it. We have a very close relationship with Albion. They have always been very good to us and we want that to continue. Hopefully Dan can now produce the form that will earn him a contract.
Albion have launched a cut price season ticket package for their 18 remaining home matches in the Coca-Cola Championship, starting with next Saturdays Withdean clash against Sheffield United.
