Taking stock earlier this month, I realised Albion fans are now into their tenth season of uncertainty since we learnt the Goldstone was to be sold with no concrete plans in place for a new home.
We have come a long way and achieved much, in many ways, since then but are still being held back from achieving our true potential.
I wish to take this opportunity, whilst the Labour Party are in the city, to urge the Deputy Prime Minister and his junior ministers to ensure we now wait no longer than is absolutely essential.
The decision on Albion's new permanent home must be made before the end of April 2005.
Our club needs to know where it stands so it can budget not just for a year but for the next five years, as most well-run companies and, sometimes, even governments try to do.
