The shortlisted sites are Peter & Jo, The Hub 100, Eurogamer, Flyer Supplier and Web Placing.
The winner will be announced at the Brighton and Hove Web Awards at the Sussex Arts Club in Ship Street, Brighton, next Thursday.
Nominees for the other award categories are as follows:
Best community site: My Brighton and Hove, Queens-Park Books, Brighton and Hove City Council, Sussex County Cricket Club and Pride
Best personal site or blog: Adactio, Assistant Brighton, Clagnut, Chris Eubank, Squdio 04
Best local arts and music site: Yellow House, Canvas, Sons of the Tribe, Jonny Quality and The Surfing Museum
Best site for a night out: Donatello, Real Brighton, Brighton and Hove Curry Guide, Al Duomo and The Insight
Special prizes will also be awarded for humanity accessibility and the most search engine-friendly site.
