Wayne Flynn is taking over at Arundel following the sacking of Steve Johnson.
Johnson's former assistant is keen to take over on a permanent basis, but the situation will be reviewed in a month's time.
Mullets chairman Bob Marchant said: "Wayne will be in charge for the next month unless he decides it is not for him. We shall then review the situation and see if he is capable of doing the job or whether we will advertise the post."
Captain Stuart Hack has left in the wake of Johnson's departure but last season's leading scorer Miles Scerri has returned.
Ringmer manager John Crumplin is ready to wield the axe.
Crumplin, whose side have won just once in the league this year, said: "Paul Thomsett had to play in midfield on Wednesday and I came on as substitute. It is a shame to see a 40-year-old and a 37-year-old showing more enthusiasm and will to win than the youngsters in the team."
Ringmer have already signed former Horsham and Withdean winger Rhod Davis.
Whitehawk have taken midfielder Kevin Keehan on loan from League One side Bradford City. Keehan had a similar spell at Worthing last year.
Albion under-19s are playing Eastbourne Town in a friendly tonight at the Saffrons (7.30pm). Town hope to give run-outs to the returning Gary Brockwell, Gavin Ramsden and Scott Price.
