Celebrities of the stage and screen rubbed shoulders with punters during a charity race day.
Among the famous faces at Goodwood racecourse yesterday were television presenter Alan Titchmarsh, actor Robert Powell and lyricist Sir Tim Rice.
They joined hundreds of people at the Sussex track for the event, which raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK, St Richard's Hospital Charitable Trust and Racing Welfare, the charity which supports anyone involved in thoroughbred horse racing and breeding who is in need following an accident.
As well as enjoying seven races, the crowds were treated to a flying display from Spitfire fighter planes, a circus and a steel band.
