It is a pity your article on the incinerator at Newhaven (The Argus, September 23) said little about the waste of resources required to build and maintain it, the waste of energy and resources in burning many recyclable items and the emissions from such an incinerator.
Why can't more emphasis be put on each individual's responsiblity to cut their own waste and on supermarkets' responsibility to cut down on non-biodegradable packaging?
