Specialist games company Babel Media has climbed more than 20 places in the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table.
The Hove-based firm, which tests all the games which can be played on Vodafone mobiles, was ranked 60th, compared with 81st last year.
It was the only games company in the league table.
The table is based on companies' sales growth record between 2001 and 2003 and features familiar names such as Friends Reunited and Cheapflights.co.uk.
Over the two-year period, Babel has increased sales by almost 80 per cent to more than £3.6 million in 2003 from £1.1 million in 2001.
Babel managing director Algy Williams said: "In these two years we have opened a facility in India and an office in the United States.
"It underlines how the company has grown its service lines while continuing our international expansion."
