Some pro-hunt campaigners claim they are sticking up for what their fathers fought for in the Second World War.
My sister-in-law came close to an asthma attack when she witnessed the dead horse near where she works in the centre of Brighton last week.
I do not eat meat, my daughters are vegetarian and Brighton is the vegetarian capital of the UK.
My uncle fought from the Normandy beaches (not in the actual landings) all the way to the German border.
My father was in the RAF and served on the south coast of England prior to being sent to the Far East, where he helped "humanise" Allied prisoners of war from Japanese prison camps. He is one of the few people alive today to have witnessed the effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki.
None of these people had fox hunting, or the fact Nazi Germany banned it, as a war issue.
Neither did my grandfather, who was sunk twice in the First World War and decorated for keeping the guns firing to cover the crew while they evacuated.
He was later bombed during the Blitz.
Let's keep such issues to the point, not hijack and rewrite history. I
hope those responsible receive the full weight of the law for breaking health and safety laws.
