Hundreds of baggage handlers at Gatwick are going on strike today for the fourth time in two weeks.

Union leaders and managers at Servisair have still not reached agreement in a row about working conditions and the suspension of a union official.

Transport and General Workers Union members at Servisair were starting the 12-hour strike at 8am.

A further two walkouts are scheduled to take place next week.

The company said contingency plans introduced to cope with the industrial action had so far prevented flights from being disrupted.

It was confident disruption would be kept to a minimum today.

The union said it has a lot of support from members and the industrial action had so far cost the company more than £500,000.
