(Cert 18, 87 mins): Starring Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly and Billy Boyd. Directed by Don Mancini

Face it, you're either going to love this one or hate it with a passion.

Six years on from the fourth installment in the infamous Child's Play series, everyone's favourite psychotic doll Chucky is back.

Voiced once more by the inexplicably underrated Brad Dourif, Chucky and his bride Tiffany (Tilly) are resurrected by their son Glen; played by amiable cheeky-chappie and former Hobbit Billy Boyd.

As they head for Hollywood, the doting parents have a difference of opinion about how to raise their son - as a loving toy or a homicidal killer?

Few thought the Child's Play franchise would make a comeback after 1991's squalid third installment but 1998's Bride Of Chucky did a good job of straddling the divide between convincing horror and entertaining pastiche.

Whether Mancini can repeat the winning blood, guts and belly laughs combo remains to be seen.
