I understand Brighton and Hove City Council is considering Braypool sports field as a potential site for park-and-ride.
Have they considered the ramifications of depriving the neighbouring RSPCA animal shelter of this valuable area?
There will be no exercise facility for the unfortunate homeless animals and no common ground where potential adopters could meet the dogs.
The RSPCA shelter does a superb job, caring for and re-homing abandoned, unwanted, ill-treated and neglected animals - all victims of callousness, irresponsibility and sheer cruelty.
It depends on voluntary aid and fund-raising in order to feed and care for the animals. It needs our support.
What is the council's attitude towards strays? Has it got one? Or is it happy to leave the hard work to societies such as the RSPCA?
