John Suter has spent more hours than he cares to remember driving to away games.
Which is why he reckons a morning flight to Newquay can help Sussex beat group rivals Cornwall tomorrow and clinch a place in the South West Counties Championship final.
Sussex meet at Gatwick at 7.45am tomorrow and will be home from the group decider in Truro by 7pm.
Boss Suter said: "The last time we went to Cornwall we lost 4-0 and we didn't start playing until the second half.
"A six-hour coach journey is no way to prepare for a game."
Sussex and Cornwall both have 100 per cent records, which means Suter's men will have to sweat on the Cornish result in their last game against Devon if they fail to win tomorrow.
Suter is delighted with the attitude shown by players like Leon Legge (Hailsham) and Eastbourne United duo Scott McDonald and Andy Atkin, who have cancelled contracts with their clubs to make themselves available.
McDonald misses out through injury tomorrow but Suter said: "People really seem keen to play for the county these days."
Matt Hill (Whitehawk) is out so Gareth Green (Ringmer) takes his place.
Squad: Andy Atkin (Eastbourne United), Andy Beech, Stuart Garrod (both Whitehawk), Ian Chatfield, James Grant, Ellis Hooper, Alisdair Russell (all Horsham YMCA), Gareth Green, Dominic Shepherd (both Ringmer), Joel Harding, Pat Harding (both Hassocks), Leon Legge (Hailsham), Pat Massaro (Three Bridges), Daren Pearce, Gary Young (Littlehampton).
