I have worked for the RSPCA as a volunteer for several years.
I am a home visitor and have walked their dogs from time to time.
Many of the animals they rescue are wonderful but have been traumatised by past experiences.
I would strongly urge members of Brighton and Hove City Council to visit the shelter and see for themselves the super work undertaken 24 hours a day.
The RSPCA receives no Government funding and relies on donations and fundraising events for income - a disgrace in itself.
What a tragedy, in a supposedly caring society, that Brighton and Hove City Council is even contemplating denying these animals their safe haven at Patcham.
The shelter must be allowed to continue its tremendous work in an environment which for so many years has helped so many animals.
