Burgess Hill boss Gary Croydon praised his side's fighting qualities after they came from 2-0 down to snatch a 2-2 draw with fellow play-off hopefuls Leatherhead.
Hillians trailed 2-0 after 38 minutes to goals from Wes Harrison and Darren Painter.
Matt Geard instigated the comeback. He was brought down just before the break and Steve Harper reduced the deficit from the spot.
Then Geard's low cross was bundled in by Owen Callaghan for the equaliser 14 minutes from time.
Croydon said: "It was an outstanding point after we went 2-0 down. We switched to three up front after that which opened the game up.
"We rode our luck a bit but we had some chances of our own."
Horsham's game at Corinthian Casuals was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
