Neville Southall did not miss much as Hastings United fought out a 0-0 draw with Tooting and Mitcham at the Pilot Field.
The former Everton and Wales goalkeeper had commitments elsewhere so Terry White and Vince Moorton were in charge as United tried to avenge last month's defeat at Imperial Fields.
In a game of few chances, Tooting's Jason Pinnock went close to snatching the points for the visitors in the final minute but his left-foot volley rebounded back off an upright.
Hastings midfielder Ben White had a first-half header clawed away as they rarely threatened while Marcus Sawyer went close after the break before United skipper Jimmy Elford saw his left-foot volley tipped over the crossbar.
