We were appalled to hear there may be a park-and-ride site on the Braypool sports field next to the RSPCA Animal Shelter at Patcham.
Brighton and Hove City Council should take into account not only the destruction of our beautiful downland but the devastating effect it would have on the RSPCA Animal Shelter where dogs are cared for lovingly whilst awaiting adoption.
Surely there are other sites which would not cause so much distress. Animal lovers particularly are anxious that such a haven will be taken away merely for the convenience of the shopper and visitor.
Park-and-ride facilities are needed if we are to have less traffic within our cities but let us remember our four-legged friends who have no voice but ours and soulful eyes that speak volumes.
