I am writing to say I am absolutely appalled at the news that the green opposite the RSPCA in Patcham may be used for a park-and-ride scheme.
Haven't the residents of Brighton and Hove suffered enough already from our councillors grand designs?
During the past few years, we have had to put up with over-priced parking and ineffective one-way systems.
Now the new idea is to develop a green space which has been used by myself and the animal shelter for years. I believe it will also cause unnecessary congestion and will become a traffic danger spot.
I have been a resident of Patcham my whole life and I am not alone in having a fondness for the shelter and the wonderful work it does.
There is already a sufficient park-and-ride scheme in Withdean with buses that run every eight minutes.
I cannot see this service getting any more use, particularly the visitors I assume are its targets.
If someone drives down to Brighton for a day out, I hardly think they would be comfortable leaving their car such a long way outside the city.
