Since I wrote to you about our dustbin sheds, the service has improved and we have had two collections a week.
So I want to say a big thank you to The Argus. You do help people.
How long that will last is anyone's guess but thank you for printing my letter. The maintenance service, however, has worsened.
As a leaseholder, I pay £34 per month to the council for services. It increases a little every year but this year they want to raise it to £47. That is a lot. They say this is to give us a better cleaning service but we never had one in the first place.
We are supposed to have two men from Stanmer Heights for an hour a week. When they first started they did a good job - sweeping the stairway, tidying up the dustbin shed and picking up litter around the area.
But they don't come at all now.
If you phone head office and complain, they say they do come but I live here so can see if they come or not and they don't.
The council doesn't do a great deal for what we pay. I thought Labour was for the working class.
The council thinks we are rich but all the leaseholders here are OAPs.
